some preliminary information:

obviously, since just about anyone anywhere can see this, I won't be giving out a wealth of personal information. however, some things feel relevant to this page and to this space-- so I will put them below.

things I will not be disclosing include your standard A/S/L (age, sex, location). you may refer to me as "the admin," or with he/him or they/them pronouns. I am a college student aiming to eventually graduate with a minor in web design. part of the logic behind creating and maintaining this website is that I would like to start building those skills before I have to take the requisite classes.

this website was also created with personal expression and freedom in mind, and beyond that, a general desire to have a space that would be mine and especially represent my interests and tastes . I will restrain the urge to censor myself, excepting cases where it's in my best interest to do so as a result of privacy concerns. the back button and the ability to close a tab are both free and available for your use at all times.

goals for next time:

I'd like to add an icon to this website and perhaps mess around with some of the color palette. I will also be attempting to learn how to change the background image and the header image, but I already peeked at the code for them and I am *confused.* Hence why attempting is emphasized. All I've done today is change the text to my own; in my next session, I'm aiming higher.

I also think that doing development outside of neocities' IDE would be a good goal to work towards. at present, all the changes I have made were in said IDE, but I like typing my own documents. This will also allow me to keep version logs. I believe I will use Obsidian for this purpose. (fun fact about admin: I enjoy PKM apps.)
